I started woodburning about two years ago, after receiving a pyrography pen as a gift from my best friend.
I knew their was a reason I liked her! I take inspiration from anywhere, but most of my design elements are Polynesian
or Celtic in origin.

My latest artistic efforts have been in digital imaging. Alfredo bought me a Canon S5IS and now I'm
in love... with photography. (Hey, I'm still in love with Alfredo, too,
I promise!) We've been taking day trips around Puget Sound where I find plenty of subjects for target practice.
A side-hobby that's stemmed from this now is Birdwatching. Alfredo even invested in a pair of binoculars for himself
so he can see what it is I'm always pointing at!

Paintings
The start of all this artistic stuff, at least the 'fine arts' part of it, was stenciling. I would paint boxes
and put Celtic stencil designs on them. That lead to my first canvas creation - a four panel mural of using traditional
Celtic designs. It's still hanging in the livingroom. From there, I tried my hand at actual painting and, occasionally,
I managed to produce some nice work.

Pen & Ink
With the births of my grandchildren, came the realization that small hands and open paints don't mix very well outside
the preschool setting. I needed something I could take out and put away easily, but that still allowed me to express
my sense of color as I wanted to. This led me to Prisma Pens, a most wonderful invention! I love how beautifully
they take to paper - no overlap streaks! I'm now able to create away from home, to make smaller designs like greeting
cards easily, and have a lot of fun with colors.
