Child of the World

Halo Halo
Mix Mix
What is she?

Blue eyes reflect a thousand islands above thistle pink cheeks
Cream skin holding tropical dreams within

Samoan? Hawaiian?

Nimble fingers roll lumpia and burritos in the Northwest
dance tanikaling to the sound of bagpipes in the distance

Mexican? Scottish? Italian?

Darkness streaks the blonde above an oval face
Tribal nose punctuates her ethnic tastes

Halo Halo
Mix Mix
What is she?

Inang’s pride, Papa’s princess
Coconut scented Viking child playing volleyball with the Teines
She is the world

Mango and shortbread
pork chops with rice

Halo Halo
Mix Mix

Mestiza

She is mine.
