Sidh Poem

barrow within me, speak
sidh soul that lies in wait
awaken knowledge lost

sing songs of great deeds and wisdom
cry for battle in the old tongue

your story has lain hidden too long locked behind our shame
stand proud and be remembered

wondrous were the days of Tuatha de Danaan
in pursuit of peace and understanding
secrets revealed themselves at your whim
laws bent to your need

brutality was a force unknown
when it washed upon your shores

in the heart of our enemy, desires long denied
played their ally -
the battlefield within more deadly
than blood soaked soil

'one or the other', you believed
no shield against these temptations
you shed wisdom's cloak to run wild like the sons of Mil

we lost you

there was another choice…
to teach -- to change

awaken --
we will learn again
rebuild the beauty of truth

barrow within me, answer
I plead with my sidh soul

return the old tales to us

that peace might once more reside
where it once held court

In Eire -- where it once held sway
in our hearts
