THIS OLD HOUSE

purple scented breeze 
plays hide and seek among 
weeds time tends the garden 

birds nest in windows 
where once sunlight reflected 
a child's laughter 

home awaits loyal 
through seasons of rain and sun 
derelict cottage 

 

 

POOR CONSOLATION

flutes sing sweet 
hollow memories 
hot tears flow 

gentle hands 
made brown in summer 
sooth old pain 

crisp blue sky 
behind the mountain 
cold beauty
