Laughter ripples
through the stifling room
like fudge through plain, vanilla ice cream
and I look up
To see your caramel eyes
Melting the hearts
of all who come near.
Those eyes shine like the light of day
In this world of bleak darkness,
Soft warmth glowing
From within
Where the embers of love
Lie banked and waiting.
I watch, and wonder
Would they spark to life
For this cold heart?
Would you share that sweetness
With someone so lacking
In the flavors of life.....?
Would
you...love....me?
